The word Reiki is Japanese in origin, and refers to “Rei” which means Universal, with the connotation of being “all-encompassing”, and “Ki”, which is the dynamic life force that animates all living things and resides within us. It’s equivalent is the Chinese “Chi”, or Indian “Prana”.

Reiki is a powerful healing energy that surrounds us all. It is an ancient healing art form where the healing energy passes through the Reiki practitioner and this energy flows freely through the animal's body.

Reiki is peaceful, soothing, relaxing, non-intrusive and loving. It works very effectively on animals - in most cases much quicker than on humans. This is because the animals are much more connected with earth energies and life force energies than the majority of us.

The Reiki always assists the area of greatest need within each animal and directs the energy to go where it's needed. Therefore, its use is very individual. In each animal, Reiki will work on the physical, emotional, and mental levels to bring body, mind and spirit into balance. Reiki does not impose healing on your pet, rather it helps each animal to help heal itself.

This means on a Physical Level, Reiki works on the Muscular-Skeletal System, the Circulatory System, the Nervous System, the Immune System and all of the internal organs. On the Emotional Level, Reiki works to balance and release stress, anxiety, tension, and forms of depression. Reiki works on the Mental Level by helping to integrate the right and left hemispheres of the brain and improve mental clarity and focus of concentration.

For example, if an animal has acute pain, Reiki will focus on the physical level. On an animal with a chronic condition, Reiki will work on both the physical and emotional level. For an animal experiencing forms of depression or anxiety, Reiki will work on the physical, mental and emotional levels as needed.
